And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners. Psalms 146:7
Our goal is to bring awareness to the community of individuals needing to transition back into our community and into society in general. Also to be able to bring awareness to the community of the ongoing problem of people continually going back to jail because of not having any hope and lack of basic resources available to them.
Chain Breaker Ministry works with citizens in the Missoula County Detention Center, Montana State Prison System, and other regional Detention Facilities by interacting with incarcerated men and women, as well as, the Detention officers developing personal relationships and relaying the love of Christ. This Ministry is currently facilitating the organization and focus of religious ministries coming into the Missoula Country Detention Center that interact with people in jail to assist in giving them hope, love and a purpose in life.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
We are hoping with your help to be able to assist released citizens with:
· Transportation from the detention center upon release to food, clothing, and shelter as needed.
· Provide temporary housing, group homes, or discipleship recovery homes.
· Clothing
· Food
· Support programs such as mentoring, addiction & recovery groups, life skills classes, bible studies, and faith based counseling.
· Bibles and other study related materials
· One on one letter writing, encouragement in the faith.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
JAIL NEWS
2020 is off to a different start we had our returning volunteer spring training just before the Covid19 Virus hit and then because of a delay we were not able to have the new volunteer training. As things progressed the County Center closed all access to paid services and volunteer groups.
With that said we ask you to hold up all the Inmates and the Officers at the Missoula County Detention Center along with the Inmates at the Montana State Prison in Deerlodge and Shelby , and the Women's Prison and all the Detention Officers for safety and protection from the Covid19 Virus. And that God will bring revival, healing, and hope to all there! Its one thing to be on lock down at home like most of us are, where we have freedom to go outside, go to the store, to get a break and clear our heads. For the incarcerated there is no where to go, no escape, and the feelings of hopelessness and helplessness can be overwhelming I'm sure, so lets keep them lifted up in prayer!
MONTANA MENTORING PROGRAM - Waymaker Ministry, in affiliation with River of Life and Chain Breaker Ministry.
This is a great ministry to get involved in. People getting out of jail or coming into church for the first time sometimes very awkward and isolated - our service ministry would be to:
- Connect men with men & women with women with phone numbers before they even get out of jail.
- Each person is paired up with someone that they can connect with daily. Offer their time as helpers and be available to pick them up and bring them to church.
- Be available for questions and sharing your testimony, help them answer biblical questions.
- Pray for your person, pray with your person, be examples of Jesus hands and feet.
- Be guides introduce them to people in the church, offer them a place to sit during services, and invite them to church events.
- Get them involved in the many outreach opportunities by serving with them.
